Following the tragic floods in May 2024 in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), Celesc, an utility company with concessions in Santa Catarina and Paraná, began to provide emergency services to some regions of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. And Codex Utilities supported this initiative with Kaffa Espresso.
Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina S.A. (Celesc) has two wholly-owned subsidiaries (Celesc Distribution and Celesc Generation) and holds interests in related companies in the electric sector and infrastructure area. The company was founded in 1955 and in 2006 became a holding company.
Celesc was already using Kaffa Espresso in its concession areas and began to use the solution to import information about municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul and assist its technicians in carrying out the necessary actions for energy supply.
Here’s how it worked: CPQD, research and development center from Campinas, fed Celesc’s georeferencing system with Rio Grande do Sul regions cartographic and geometric data, enabling the map of the area to be created on Kaffa and displayed in the application.
This way, navigating through streets in various regions of Rio Grande do Sul was possible, making it easier for field technicians to locate their positions.
